college { au }
Oct. 19th, 2013 09:18 pmName: Green Samuel Oak
Age: 21
Majors: Ethics, History, & Public Policy and Vocal Performance
Career track: Pre-Law
Home Life:
Lives in an old, shabby house with his grandfather. His mother and father died years ago in a car accident. Daisy (aged 26) is reluctantly at graduate school after Green convinced her that he'd be fine with her going. Hint: he's really not fine with her gone. Grandpa Sam and Green have never quite gotten along very well. Gramps is entirely too preoccupied with his work as a researcher, and entirely too disappointed in the fact that Green isn't going into science. That is, he's disappointed when he can remember that he has a grandson named Green who isn't going into science.
And even with Gramps putting all that time into his work, money isn't exactly flowing around in the Oak household, especially with both Daisy and Green in school. As a result, Green doesn't have much for himself, and is eligible for most fee-waivers when it comes to spending money for college.
Room: His room is rather small, but he doesn't need much more space than he has. He has a small cot, a nightstand, a wardrobe, and a desk at the end of his bed. The desk is littered with papers, and the room is generally in a state of disarray.
Belongings: An mp3 player his sister got him for his birthday years ago. Outdated, much like most of the songs on the player, but well-loved.

Name: Green
Canon: Pokemon
Canon Point: Game Canon; HeartGold/SoulSilver when he's working as Gym Leader.
History: Except I'll be calling him Green.
Personality: To start out with, Green is pretty closed-off to most people. After his rather tumultuous childhood, he's changed quite a lot, and while he's not any less susceptible to his heights of emotion, he's much better at masking them. To most, he appears cold and stern, commanding power in his position as the 8th Gym Leader in Kanto. However, in reality, it's not difficult to get him worked up. When he's not in the Gym, he refuses to act professionally, instead often complaining about everything that annoys him about his job. He's very vocal about things he's unhappy about, and he isn't afraid to be snappy and easily irritable in front of people he's closer to. The only people he's really close to right now, though, are his gym trainers - and even then, his complaints often scare them away.
Green is definitelya little really cocky. He's the 8th Gym Leader for a reason, after all. He's extremely competitive, and hates when people do better than him in anything. He believes his competitiveness drives him to be even better than he already is. In actuality, it also contributes to the abrasive, sometimes rude side of his personality that especially comes out around Red, his childhood friend rival. Additionally, Green's emotions are often heated and flighty. His anger is quick, sharp, and brutal, and he often says hurtful things without really thinking about what he's doing. In fact, he often runs into things headlong without thinking before he acts. On the other hand, his moments of grief, while few and far between, are very intense. He's prone to shutting himself up alone and not letting anyone near him in his moments of emotional weakness.
In general, Green is a very untidy person. While he's clean, he lacks any sense of organization, which inevitably leads to his office being covered in papers as he sleeps at his desk. He is terrible at taking care of himself, and often prioritizes his duties over his own health. While he's a very focused and determined person, he's also a bit of a softie at heart. He's easily swayed by people who seem like they need protecting, and while he'll never admit it, he's very overprotective of those close to him. Whenever he shows his affection, it's usually in a gruff, reluctant way, but that doesn't mean his feelings are any less genuine. When it comes to his Pokemon, he treats them not as friends, but almost like students. He cares for them, spoils them a little, and constantly encourages them to be better, though he's lost the edge he once had that made him use Pokemon rather than work with them. At the moment, he's not really close to anyone like he's close to his Pokemon. Of course, he treats his enemies very differently. His actions can range from cold and ruthless to heated and violent. The latter usually happens when someone close to him has been hurt, as he has a hard time keeping his emotions under check in those cases. While he might not be as noble and courageous asRed certain people, he makes up for it in his rashness and intimidation skills. Or something like that.
